Do you know someone who claims to have paranormal abilities? Well, for a long time, many people have claimed to have supernatural powers and things of this kind.
Considering that many people have heard about these skills, but do not know exactly what they are, we have decided to present a list of 6 of these paranormal abilities:
1 – Clairvoyance
Clairvoyance is the ability to obtain knowledge of the event, being or object, without the use of any of the known human sensory channels. It differs from telepathy insofar as there is no transfer of information from one person to another. Clairvoyants often say that information comes from the spiritual world. The current thinking among the defenders of clairvoyance affirms that some people are born with these incredible paranormal abilities.
A very famous clairvoyant was Doris Stokes, a British spiritualist. His public appearances, television appearances and memoirs became famous for years. During her life, Doris was a controversial figure, as some believed in her abilities, while others thought it was a farce.
2 – Psychokinesis
It is the ability to move or manipulate objects with the mind. Of all the elements on our list, this may be the most desired skill by people. The position usually taken by scientists and skeptics is that any apparent evidence of this ability is a fraud. One person who became famous for claiming to have this ability is Uri Geller. He claimed to be able to bend or twist spoons with the mind. But in reality, many people were able to imitate this trick with great success and without claiming to have supernatural abilities.
3 – Telepathy
Telepathy is the ability to communicate with another person using the mind. In most cases, it occurs spontaneously in cases of a crisis in which a relative or friend is in danger. This information can appear in different ways, such as in visions, dreams, hallucinations, mental images and things of this type.
In 1917, psychologist John E. Coover, of Stanford University, conducted a series of telepathy tests involving game cards. Its participants were able to guess the identity of cards with a probability of 160 to 1. However, Coover did not consider the results significant enough to affirm that telepathy exists.
Bilocation is the act of being in two places at the same time. St. Pio of Pietrelcina, said to have that ability. It is said that this is a physical ability and not a spiritual one.
Friends of Aleister Crowley, the occultist, claimed that he had that ability. Although it is unusual, bilocation is an ancient phenomenon. It is alleged to have been experienced by mystics, saints, monks, sacred and magical people.
5 – Astral Projection
Astral projection is the ability to separate the soul from the body and travel enormous distances using only the mind. This differs from bilocation since the second body is a spiritual body. The concept of astral projection goes back to ancient China and other ancient cultures.
A study by Dr. Charles Tart concluded that astral projection can have objective validity. For example, in a 1967 study, a subject failed to discover a 5-digit number written and placed on his face in a room but was able to provide some details about the activities of the technician, who controlled the experiment.
